about shiloh
The Shiloh Rebman Youth Ranch Society (operating as Shiloh) is incorporated under the Societies Act of Alberta. Shiloh is a year-round Christian organization serving children and youth ages 7-17 living in high-risk and vulnerable situations in Edmonton and area. At Shiloh Youth Ranch (SYR), our mission is to “facilitate positive life change in children and youth in high-risk situations”. Our core values are to unconditionally love the unloved, support the least fortunate first, rely on Jesus Christ as the source of life transformation and to partner with others to achieve our mission.
board of directors
Shiloh’s Board of Directors sets Shiloh’s strategic direction with staff input; provides direction and support to the Executive Director; helps promote the ranch (ambassadorship) and support fundraising efforts; stewards the organization’s resources; and ensures effective risk management, internal controls and compliance with laws/statutes.
The Board is accountable to its Society (Engage Team) and depends on the Engage Team for:
approvals of key decisions,
input/feedback guidance,
ambassadorship,
prayer and
legal reporting compliance.
Engage Team terms are for three years, with no limit on re-appointments.

engage team member roles & expections
Faith
Shiloh is a Christian organization. Therefore, Engage Team (Society) members must have a professed faith in Jesus Christ as their Lord and personal savior and must endeavor to live a life above reproach, with God’s help, in accordance with biblical standards.
Attendance at Annual Meeting
We ask that Engage Team members make every effort to be present at our annual meeting/vision update. We need 40% of members in attendance at the annual meeting to meet quorum but more importantly, it’s an opportunity to hear what has been happening at Shiloh (through the annual reports), approve the annual budget and meet our Board of Directors and staff.
Ambassadorship
The Board of Directors welcomes Engage Team members’ help in promoting our organization (eg., making new introductions, sharing success stories, staying connected with us and our events, raising awareness).
Participate/Volunteer
Shiloh also encourages our Engage Team members to participate in periodic fundraising events and work bees. We also sometimes seek Society members to participate on Board committees if they have a particular area of expertise that would benefit the work of that committee.
